My friend's '56 Buick has 'whee ropes' too. One of my best childhood memories was riding across the Pennsylvania Turnpike on our way to visit my aunt. I was kneeling on the back seat, looking out the rear. My dad passed a truck on an upgrade and I waved to the driver. On the downgrade, he passed us. On the next upgrade, I waved again as he fell behind. Don't know how many times we did that, but I felt like I had made a friend.
