When I was a kid, my love for videogames couldn't be fulfilled like the rest of the kids. I had an Atari 2600 which was greaty but my heart was in the NES.
Time passed and became a teenager and my love thru videogames was only expressed thru magazines and friends consoles. All this game machines: the NES, SNES, Genesis, NEO GEO, Turbografx, Nintendo 64, Master System were only passing thru my eyes dreaming with the day I could play them in the comfort of my bedroom..
..that day arrived with the Virtual Console.
Now I can experience all this game and machines I only dreamed off. Many of these games were as wonderful I imagined..others were dissapointing..
..but the magic is stil there. I just turn on my Wii and click in a game and..,.is like being in 1988 or 1995 again..
and before you talk, yes I do played in PC emulators and it was ok..
..But is not the same! Real gamers know that console gaming can only be truly lived in a TV, not a workstation (PC). I don't mind paying for this classics because what I get in return is just invaluable.
That doesn't mean that the VC is perfect. Some consoles like the Neo Geo and the Arcade are terribly forgotten. Where is Guantlet? where is Shadow dancer? the Mortal Kombats? or the king of fighters?! Metal slug 3? And many NES games that I do loved in their time and I doubt they will be there (Chip and dale, snoopy, Killer Instinct..) due to license stuff
But that's ok. The offers right now are awesome, varied and with 38 games in my SD Card and Wii menu..I have plenty of time to enjoy them over and over again

I've never played with all of those console(I'm too young);anyway I'm a videogame lover, but my faved are the old DOS games; since the age of 4 yo I've played, for example, with Doom(I think you have heard about this game) cause my parents bought to my brother a computer for school works.

Yeah, Doom rocks and recently I obtained a new Doom version, I will explain:
Some Doom fan have made a new Doom engine that turn the old textures and graphics of Doom and Doom2 in a new 3D game(of course you need some resources packs).It's called Doomsday and is freely downloadble as the textures and resources pack but you need the Doom.wad or the Doom2.wad(I don't know if you can find them free).
Finally I finished my explanation .Take care

I know what you're talking about when you say that it's not the same...
On the other hand though... Sometimes you can get even more out of a game with emulation.
My favorite example for this is Shadow of the Colossus.
I always loved that game but I also alwayes grived how much potential is left unattained forever. The game would look marvelous if it wasn't rendered in super low resolution and at super low framerate...
Then PCSX2 came, and all the potential is brought to life...

So I think emulation is kind of a "reneissance" for those games...

a poko no hay MK? wow eso es un crimen, pero ke yo recuerde si habia KOF el 94 creo, y pus metal slug no lo sacaran porke ya existe la compilacion pa wii, gauntlet creo ke solo ta pa xbox y otros mas o se tan tardando o simplemente se les olvido tomar en cuenta, tal vez escribir cartas a nintendo sirva de algo no crees?

I guess I'm being casual. Playing it for the sake of playing, so I won't mind to being a Save Scum because some game is totally loving to be a jerk. Or I'm just having a total "How'd you LIKE that BASTARD!?" because i can't beat it a long time ago. ...very few case though...
And yeah, damn certain games with their copyright case.
