This wasn't going at all the way Takato had expected when he dreamed of having his own Digimon partner.
For one thing, Guilmon was twice the size of the average Rookie, and while he naturally hunched over and thus was still shorter than Takato, he was clearly bigger and stronger. So there was no chance of Takato effortlessly picking him up and carrying him around like a stuffed animal.
This wouldn't be a problem, in fact Takato would have been delighted with having such a powerful partner, except that Guilmon was not at all like the Digimon from the show, and had no interest in happily going along with Takato's ideas.
Guilmon had firmly asserted his independence by bullying and pinning Takato to the ground, leaving Takato flustered and intimidated.
He knew that if he didn't turn this around somehow that this would be their relationship from now on, with Guilmon dominating him and taking advantage of Takato's timid nature to call all the shots.
There was no chance of Takato winning a wrestling match, and trying to bluff his way out seemed doomed to fail.
With little to no options, he raised his head up, squeezed his eyes shut, and followed his instincts.
He kissed Guilmon on the tip of his nose.
The reaction was more than he could have expected, as Guilmon made a noise somewhere between a squeak and a honk and abruptly jumped back, leaning on his paws and staring at Takato in shock.
"What... what was that?!" He demanded, reaching up to rub his snout furiously.
Takato was not an assertive person by nature, but he knew to press an advantage when he saw one.
He got up and crawled forward, even as Guilmon tried to crawl backwards away from him.
But Guilmon was also trying to reconcile his ever action against his pride, and couldn't justify actually retreating from this weak creature, so he switched tactics and began to growl at him, his pupils narrowing.
He held up one of his claws, threateningly.
"Human, you better not try that agai-"
And then Takato was kneeling on either side of him, and grabbed the claw that was pointed at him in order to hold it in both hands.
"Takato. My name is Takato. You better start calling me by my name." He declared firmly.
No one had ever held Guilmon's hand before, and he immediately tried to pull it back, his face flushing a darker red.
"You- What- What is this?!" Guilmon wailed, unable to come to grips with these kind of unorthodox tactics.
He was a skilled veteran of combat, and could hold his own in battle, but these kinds of actions were completely alien to him.
Was this how humans "Tamed" Digimon?
He'd thought it was just a myth created by humans to cover for their weakness.
Now he wasn't sure of anything.
"And these..." Takato began, taking hold of his goggles and removing them from Guilmon's head.
The Digimon again tried growl and snarl, only to be cut off when Takato kissed him again.
"...Are mine!" Takato declared, sitting on Guilmon's stomach as he put them back on his own head with an assertive 'snap'.
Folding his arms, he frowned at the pacified Digimon.
"Understood?" He demanded, leaning back and reaching down to give Guilmon a gentle tummy rub.
Guilmon's ear-wings drooped down as he realized he'd lost this fight.
"...Yes, Takato."

I hope this won't come across too much as prying too deeply into your art projects or anything like that but I was just wondering whether you had any more art pieces involving these two, which continues on from how their first encounter went here and whether there is always a dominance play happening between them every now and again in-between whether they're fighting Digimon or the kid Takato trying to manage his life now that he has a Digimon partner and repeatedly has difficulty trying to hide him due to some kind of issues they have between each other involving their current arrangements?
That is an excellent question!
In truth, I had seriously considered continuing this project, but I had doubts about how appropriate it would be considering the level of tension between them.
Guilmon would continue to try and assert dominance over Takato, though he would adjust his tactics when he realized that threatening him wouldn't work.
Takato would have to develop a variety of ways to handle Guilmon, which would be very stressful as he had to balance the role of caregiver, teacher and tamer with an unpredictable creature who's life had been nothing but violence before they met.
There would be a lot of mutual frustration, as well as a longing to trust each other, held back by their mutual fear that vulnerability would be seen as weakness.
So their relationship would be very convoluted until they finally reached a breaking point.

I know that for the time that Digimon has been shown on television from when it first aired back then right up till now those heroic children and their Digimon partners have always tried to make things right in one way or another but with the different personalities that you're showing with these semi old characters from the Digimon tamers series are you sure there wouldn't be any temptation for them to try to take advantage of either ones vulnerability no matter how big or small it might be?
I hope I didn't seem too personal by asking that question in my last comment but if I did, I apologize for that, I just meant to ask whether if there was a point of time after the tension had reached that breaking point and they had started to head down a downward spiral involving their relationship wouldn't there still be some way for them to see each other in a different light if they happen to change their perspective of each other thanks to a friend or family member's help or if they happen to realize it on their own or something along those lines?
So I hate to be a bother by asking a question repeatedly like a broken record, but is there anything that I inquired about before a possibility or would that just be even more of an uphill battle between those two involving more tension and quarrels building up in the relationship in one way or another, or would they find some way to work it all out in the end?
I don't want to seem like I'm being too nosy about your ideas or like I'm overstepping into spoiler territory by asking you about the background and/or journey that you're planning for these characters at the moment but I am just curious about whether intimidation is the only kind of tactic that Guilmon will use in order to try to get what he wants from Takato or is Takato is going to be focus so much on controlling anything or everything around him no matter whether it involves people, places, things or anything else in between that all down to the littlest detail?
No no, it's fine, I just tend to go quiet for a bit.
Guilmon grew up in the Digital World, so violence and intimidation are his most familiar methods.
Takato can't actually fight Guilmon, so he has to use his much broader range of tactics to settle him down, such as affection or feeding him or tricking him.
Takato isn't a genius, he just has a broader range of experience than Guilmon, so Takato has the advantage despite a LOT of stuff being beyond his control.
You're probably giving him too much credit.
The main conflict between them is that Guilmon doesn't know how to handle Takato just giving him things he wants like food and shelter, and feels like he's making himself vulnerable if he's not forcing Takato do these things for him. Takato thinks Guilmon is being ridiculous and so he just uses his own non-violent tactics to make life easier for both of them.

I guess I did kind of paint Takato in the light of some sort of Super Genius, didn't I? I hope that I didn't go overboard when I might have described him as some kind of control freak or perfectionist or anything along those lines. It should always be obvious and simple that from the day Takato first appeared in that specific and unique Digimon series, he was always portrayed as a kid with an overactive imagination and I suppose you're just still trying to follow along with that in your own kind of style in both the form of art and stories, right?
Although it is still with a unique twist that Guilmon is a bit more challenging to handle ever since he came into his life now Huh?

I suppose it will take Guilmon quite a bit of time to accept that Takato is just the way he is in the case of providing him food and shelter afterward just right after they established their partnership from their first encounter and he's probably go drive himself crazy in trying to use any kind of method that he could possibly think of that he thinks will be effective in intimidating the kid when it will actually be the exact opposite of what he expects when he tries it on the boy right?
