The Zadzar are a nomadic species from the outer rim of the galaxy, their original planet is unknown, yet its confirmed they abandoned their homeland after a desastrous event involving the Rummah, the Zadzar revealed few clues about their past in their diplomatic relationships, but aparently the event question was a massive chemical/biological bombardment who erradicated 2 thirds of the population most of the victims being females,the survivors manage to flee inside a massive spaceship known as the Salvation Ark, at first it was supposed to be just a provisory transport, but knowing they would be forever hunted by the rummah in any planet they settle in, they decided to make the ark their home, so with their massive scientific knowledge and expertise, bit by bit they expanded and improved their ship, making it self sustainable, and mostly importantly cloaked from any prying eyes, their stealth tecnology being so powerful that the massive ship its impossible to see even to naked eye few meters away.
The agent used in this bombardment was so potent that effectively crippled the reproductive system of their entire species, all the surviving females become sterile,and one by one the remaining females succumbed to horrendous tumours in their wombs that not even the superior medicine of the Zadzar could heal, eventually they became a male only species,inferior species would have succumbed to anarchy in this situation, but the Zadzar collective kept calm and collected trough the crisis, being essentially immortal they all the time in the world to work on a solution, they just had to avoid deaths among their ranks, at first they tried to use artificial wombs , but the result were souless bodies, their species being deeply conected to the magic flow of the universe, they required living females with conection with the magic to procreate, this forced they to take drastic measures, they began to raid inferior species to capture magicaly adept females, they really despise this practice but this is what is keeping their numbers trough the countless millenia of hidding.
Every single Zadzar is a military powerhouse by itself, since from childhood they practice to master the flow of magic, to be allowed to leave the ship to fight in missions a young Zadzar have to train for at least 550 years intensively, so even the youngest of their warriors will be essentialy a veteran to the eyes of other species,their fight style consists of a mix of magical attacks and quick melee, their weapons are made of a metallic liquid reactive to magic, so they can shape their weapons to best suit their situation, they can start a fight with a polearm and in a blink of an eye shape it in a sword or mace,but their most prized fighting technique is the defense, they always use half of their power to project shields around their bodies, anything bellow anti tank weaponry ain't gonna hurt them at long range, and if the situation becomes really dire they use the last drops of their power to open small portals back to their ship,making them theoreticaly impossible to capture.
Diplomatically they are remarkably peaceful, resorting to the violence as a last resource, even in their raids they try to keep the collateral damage to minimal, the only species that they are openly agressive towards are the Rummah, they use every chance possible to cause massive damage to the Rummah efforts, sometimes directly but most of the time by helping other species to defend their worlds against the mutual enemy."
