Sometimes I wonder why I bother scanning. Colors aren't bad, but the over contrast, loss of subtle gradations, and over emphasized textures really mangles this piece which I was really happy with. One of my better colored pencil works technically speaking.
Some reference crawls are no fun. I looked at a lot of starving and/or mangy dog photos for this one. :C
A chupacabra badge for Special Bats commissioned at FC 2010! There is an account for special bats here on FA but I don't know if that is him.
Created with Prismacolor pencils on Daler Rowney Cartridge paper.

It's so awesome!
There are a lot of places in the US that see their products, but since I don't know where you live, you might be better off going here http://www.daler-rowney.com/retaile.....tes+of+America

Thanks for the map! Daler Rowney has a lot of different products. I am looking for a very specific kind of paper which is easy enough to find in the UK and Australia but no google search shows me paper in the US. I tried to buy it overseas but oversize shipping applied and was over 200 dollars for a couple of A3 pads.

Hey scanning will always ruin it but it's great that you are able to at least share it with other people. Scanning is such a pain in the as though, I hear ya. I hate hate HATE scanning...Anyhow I really love the mangy-ness of this guy. Really cool way of drawing one of these fellas. :) Thanks so much for taking the time to show us.
Very scary! The leathery skin especially. Gives him that half dead (or maybe zombie, but that's half dead too ) look. You must've done a lot of research to get the stretched skin and bone effect. I collect skeletons (find them in woods...not all of them are just bones) and the texture is complex! Wonderfully creepy job. Now I'm all nervous because the chupacabra might sneak up on me! lol
Ffffff I really love how many colors you used and how well they blend together! And major kudos to you for venturing into the emaciated animal area. I nearly can't bear to view photos like that, it's sad and sickening that people could do that to any animal. Anyways back onto the artwork, I looove the face and how the ears look! Wonderful work, even if the scanner ate it. x)
