My second attempt at a reference sheet for my Vilous OC and fursona Hiroji Namiq. My art still needs to improve but its come along way over the last year.

Coat colour/ markings: Golden brown-orange base coat colour with off-white secondary colour. Dyes fur Magenta-pink. Note- Darkly coloured- used design 4 from Sergal- official reference by Mick Ono.
Hair: Ties his mane back back with a golden bangle.
Eye colour: Blue
Clothing: Form fitting fabric which dissipates heat whilst also revealing his body. Lab coat for scientific work.
Accessories: Gold hair bangle, gold arm rings, two golden ear rings on his right ear, two way radio/fax

Hiroji Namiq (Namiq is the Sekir word for mountain or cliff) is a male Southern Sergal who lives in the metropolis of Gold Ring surrounding the lake of Colvilous. He was born in Rain Calendar (RC) 45 and is currently 16; this is equivalent to a human age of 22. During this era there has been rapid technological development following the world war waged by the Northern Shigu. During the war many refugees emigrated to Gold Ring leading to the rapid expansion of the city, leading to the proliferation of shanty towns and crime but also to rapid economic growth. This expansion led to the city building many new light railways/tramways to transport people and goods throughout the urban area. Hiroji is an avid train spotter and loves to watch the railways!

Around 33 RC many refugees migrated to Gold Ring. The Agudner and Western Sergals were easily integrated into the city’s society however, the Nevreans experienced severe discrimination. Owing to their beauty many male Nevreans found work in artistic professions such as the theater and in musical performances but many also found work as sex workers. Female Nevreans who were unable to find work often were forced to adopt criminal lifestyles as “Out Ringers”. In his free time Hiroji loves to visit the performances by the male Nevreans owing to the vivid colours and musical creativity on display, Sadly, Hiroji feels that he has to hide his interests from his friends and family (in this case his fellow clutch members as Sergals are raised communally) owing to other Sergal’s negative perceptions of the Nevreans.

Hiroji is currently employed as a research scientist at Jakk’s Eltus plant research institute. He is a science Sergal! Hiroji is often tasked with collecting research samples out in the Sailzane desert and Lyvank mountain range. Due to the risk of encountering the deadly Talaxian wildlife it is necessary to travel out into the desert with an armed guard- Ms Kaori Tarth- a Northern Sergal trained in armed and unarmed combat,

Hiroji’s friends are mainly well connected Southern Sergals with prominent positions in the administration of Gold Ring. Hiroji is deeply concerned by what his friends will think of him. Until fairly recently his family has been carrying out arranged marriages in order to maintain their dark (Southern) coat colours. This has led to mild inbreeding in Hiroji’s lineage leading to a small stature and dark bags under the eyes. In order to hide these traits Hiroji dyes his fur a brilliant magenta-pink to draw attention away from his small stature and dyes under his eyes to mask the baggy skin.

His mane is tied back with a golden bangle in order to keep it out of his face. Likewise, his right ear is pierced with two golden ear rings. The use of gold illustrates his social standing and also gives him something to barter with if his group is ambushed by Out Ringers. Whilst in the city proper Hiroji prefers to wear clothing which is skin tight and optimized to dissipate heat- perfect for clubbing and hot desert conditions! This is completed with a protective lab coat whilst working. He carries a portable radio/ wireless fax with him at all times. The official reason for this is to keep in contact whilst working in the desert but the real reason that he carries it is to listen to the latest hit tunes produced by the Nevrean diaspora.

Hiroji has an extroverted personality which is best shown when he is out at the clubs with friends. He can sometimes be a little immature and consumes too much alcohol; much to the annoyance of his guard Kaori . Despite this, Hiroji has a strong sense of justice and secretly takes pity on the Nevrean diaspora within the city. This leads him to befriending the club’s owner- a flashy male Nevrean and secretly a member of the terrorist group “Sabi no Wa”.

Zellogi

Zellogi (named by twitter: @beastfrombuxton) after a Death Note shimigami is a shadowy specter which as stalked Hiroji ever since he was exposed to Talaxian miasma whilst on a field trip to survey damage to a Eltus biome by an encroaching Talaxian forrest.

Zellogi is the personification of Hiroji’s anxiety, concerns over his life choices, loneliness and depression. This lead Zellogi to have an antagonistic relationship with Hiroji and often taunts him.
