Dragon! Not actually, it’s still my virus virsona, but she has mutation powers so she spends half her time in this form.

Little bit of lore to explain why:

My OC is a virus, but an ancient one. Her power (contrasting Thrax’s Fire/destruction power) is mutation and regeneration (she can shape shift). Originally from another world, her species is notable for traveling the cosmos and genetically manipulating organisms to further evolution on living planets, and protect the ecosystems from any dangerous organisms or overpopulating species in an effort to preserve all life as a whole. She arrived on earth on the meteor that wiped the dinosaurs. She felt guilty about killing the dominant species of earth, so she took in their dna into her own, allowing her to take a reptilian form via genetic mutation (that turns out to resemble a microscopic dragon), as a show of remorse and respect to the accidental fallen species. Eventually, when a new animal showed promise for sentience (and possibility that they could protect the planet in her place), she manipulated its dna to boost its intelligence further, which lead to the evolution of man. Things went awry though, and man turned to vices like greed that lead to the dominant species overpopulating and leaving earth at the edge of destruction. Because she feels immense guilt that the destruction of the planet she has grown to love is actually her fault, her life mission is to reverse her mistake by either exterminating humans or finding some other way to change them for the better. However, because of her actions, humans eventually took on genetic engineering experiments of their own, creating what would eventually become her life mate in a biology lab, designed to be a bioweapon. After meeting him, due to the nature of his birth, she nearly had to destroy him (as he is a ‘dangerous organism threatening all life himself) but through further interaction and they ended up falling for eachother and she was able to SoulBond with him (which fuses both their RNA into a combined DNA), overpowering his altered genes for ‘indiscriminate lethality and urge to kill every single thing he infects’ and opening his eyes to the true purpose of being a virus. Now the two work together to reverse the destruction humans have caused and cull human population numbers together, while my OC attempts to manipulate their genetics further to reverse the negative cultural train of thought leading humanity to where it is.

Interesting side note : because the cells of humans can remember things humans themselves cannot, her draconic form became well known, feared, and respected by human cells. This seeded the origin of the dragon mythology into human subconscious, which is why humans often consider dragons to be forces of death and destruction or creation/protection.
