I also recall the animated movie The Last Unicorn, where a cat spots the disguised unicorn immediately. He explains (as I recall), "No cat out of its first fur can be fooled like that."

I remember that movie... and that scene. As i remember the cat moved his eye patch to the other eye about this time.

That still doesn't quite explain how the cougar actually sees the AI hologram...

since this is an on going story (being written as we go) this will come out in the future...

Couple of things here:

First, thank you so much for continuing this story. We're all grateful for your generosity.

Second, "AIN’T NONE OF YOU OSCAR MEYER BALONEY JOCKS GONNA GET ONE OF THESE TANKS PREGNANT" is a line begging for some yahoo to pipe up from the back, "Challenge accepted!"

Third, you really have to worry about a military that see wisdom in pairing a tank crew up with a machine that is almost certainly smarter then they are.

I loved that line... *giggles... I did wonder if anyone would get that...

The IQ and attitude of the crew members is part of the experiment. The AI is not in charge of the machine and becomes a crew member which is not autonomous, though it is certainly capable. In this case the AI is also learning. Plus, the personalities of the crew certainly have me in stitches at some points...

and I am grateful for everyone's encouragement...

Well, things have gotten quite a bit more interesting with the nature of the tanks revealed, and Maggie's already giving hints of her inner HAL (with her reading lips, though she may be more benevolent than HAL.)

There’s an old web video series based on the game Halo called Red vs Blue. One side has a tank that’s AI controlled

*chuckles... that's almost old news these days. It has been pointed out the Russians have one, and I'm sure we do too. Not to mention AI fighter aircraft that have been proven to be superior. The Ukraine is simply a proving ground for these things.
