More or less, this picture was a trial with a new shading technique a friend taught me that i used for shading his skin. Basically it's ALOT of little deliberately directed pencil scratches of various depths of gray with a slight smudge to them imitating depth. The clothes were mostly done with a smudge tool and a kneaded rubber eraser and the metal is fairly straight forward...
Quite honestly if you actually read the artist comments i leave on these i would love a critique targeting the shading so as to know if it's worth the time consumption it entails seeing that on and off i probably spent a total time of 20 hours on it spread out over 8 or so days, so please even a small critique would be nice ^-^'

For sure I noticed all the little lines to shade the skin and the depth effect works pretty well but I would have never guessed for the eraser technique for the clothes and the metal! Of course I don't draw... Anyway, I couldn't judge for you if it is worth all the time but I must say that it looks very good! I wouldn't mess around with this guy if I'd met him somewhere! Impressive job, as always!
