Everything gets stressful sometimes, it's a part of going through life. We unfortunately don't know when or if it will get better, but at least having something to get you back into a good emotional state helps, whether it be animals, an SO, or a close family member. Just keep in mind that we always have to make the first step, even if that step hurts, and even if it's something we've been avoiding.
