What better color for a 1955 Packard Caribbean than the sea blue of this interior? If you listen closely, you can practically hear the sound of steel drums. Well, maybe not. Unlike most modern cars, which place the environmental controls between the driver and passenger, this Packard’s passenger is at the complete mercy of his chauffeur.

I agree. When Studebaker bought Packard, the Packard company was still at least comfortably solvent. Studebaker was sinking and in the end they dragged Packard down with them.
I once got to drive a 1936 Packard V-12 convertible sedan for a wedding. I'll never forget that experience!

I love your observation about how the environmental controls are beyond the passengers' reach. Even the glovebox is closer to the driver (a practical idea, IMO).
My dream garage would include at least one Caribbean, and I especially like the '55-56 version. That gold-anodized dash panel alone is a piece of art. Thanks for sharing!
