Page two! I'm so proud of how this one came out.
For the record:
*Andalite thoughtspeech is solid, human thoughtspeech is white with gradients along the edges. Tobias? He's in-between. As always. Blue is Ax and red is him, but on the next page it ramps up.
*They're lit by a nightlight along the edge and a blue screen TV on VHS pause. I agonized so much over these colors.
*The notion of an Andalite action figure being made of a My Little Pony and a G.I. Joe with blue nail polish, cocktail toothpick eyes and a stapler attached to the butt... that was my impetus for this whole project.
*Tobias' action figure was supposed to look like a happy meal toy of the hawk from "Quest For Camelot" (Frederick Du Chau, 1998). God, there's so much to unpack with that movie. There were toys through fast food, but none of the hawk, sadly. I'd have bought one.
*My friends and I use "GET YOUR HUMAN CLOTHES, WE'RE GOING TO BLOCKBUSTER!" as our line to each other to get out of a restaurant or spot of loiterdom. I'm proud of that and want to spread it. Nineties.
