Great story!! I'm in agreement with everyone above. But I have a question: on page 6, paragraph 7, the Cougar states "...We do allow machines here." I would have thought she would say "We don't allow machines here." if that wasn't a typo, it opens the door to a lot of possibilities....

The moment it seems the story is about to end, another begins anew...

Quite a nice story, Vixyy and a bit reminiscent of an older work of yours('An Old Story') in terms of its premise, the dialogue is on point and each characters was relatable to some degree - both the tank's crew and the beasts of the forest.

I wonder if the tank crew from 'An Old Story' ended up coming through an unraveled border as well...
