well i actually found a picture of somthing on my laptop so im putting it here. found this tarantula while wondering around on my ranch in west texas. I actually didn't take this picture which is rather obvious considering you can see both of my hands. shortly after this it decided to run up my arm then down my back.

most have stings about as bad as a bee so you dont have to worry much, however there are a few that can be deadly but they're mostly in tropical climates

its alot like most animals, they have that "sixth" sense so as long as you don't panic it probably wont.

Such a pretty boy! I love tarantulas ( I have a rosehair myself! ). It's funny when they do go up your arm and down your back, because most of the time you have to have someone help you grab them!

My GOSH! I wouldn't even THINK of picking it up! The biggest spiders here are maybe the size of it's head. Oh man, can't believe you found this on your ranch .___. (omg you live on a ranch in Texas? HOW COOL <3)

That's a nice sized tarantula! Probably my favorite spider.

Hooray for west Texas! I'm originally from the DFW area but I go to school out in Lubbock. :P

OMG that thing is freaking HUGE!!

In the San Francisco Bay Area there is a place called Mt. Diablo and ever year there is the mating season of the tarantulas and you can find them all over the place. Not quite as big that one though or at least the one I have seen.
