Going Under (Part 2)(Season 1 Chapter 20)

As Kat, Panthro, and Chaor got onto the roof, they immediately turned their attention to Von Bloot, who had his back to them and cloaked himself with his feathered wings,
“So, you finally arrived... good, I would have expected no less from the likes of you three.. Kat, the thief turned fledgling hero, Panthro, the soldier turned leader of a ragtag group of goody two shoes, and Chaor, my greatest enemy, who I managed to defeat after so long,” Von Bloot commented smugly,
“Cut the crap Von Bloot! Where’s Zero?!” Kat asked angrily,
“Don’t worry, I put her away in a safe place.. After all, it wouldn’t do to have something happen to my power source…” Von Bloot explained before he let out a haunting chuckle,
“Power source?” Panthro inquired. Von Bloot turned to face his three adversaries and revealed the surprising state of his body, he was much more muscular than Kat remembered seeing him, to the point where he was even bigger than both Panthro and Chaor, and around his wrists were glowing rings of light that Kat immediately recognized,
“Those rings… that’s Zero’s magic!” Kat exclaimed,
“Yes, you see, I’m using her as a power source, though not just for me, I also took the liberty of using the girl’s power to boost my guards and soldiers, though as a trade-off, none of them have any free choice, even the slightest bit of insubordination will result in death,” Von Bloot explained with a smile,
“So then that’s what the deal was with those glowing blue collars…” Panthro commented as he got out his nunchuk,
“Sharp as always Panthro,” Von Bloot complimented disingenuously,
“But those collars were also on Krekk and Skithia right? I thought they were already working under you,” Kat commented,
“They were, though given the opportunity, I don’t like to leave things to chance, you never know who will double cross you,” Von Bloot commented as he stretched out his wings,
“Enough talk, I’m taking you down and taking back my reign!” said Chaor angrily before he punched in Von Bloot’s direction as a bright green energy flew from his fist,
“Power Pulse!” Chaor exclaimed with his attack. When Chaor’s attack came into contact with Lord Van Bloot, the harpy didn’t even flinch, though rather smiled, Kat and Panthro immediately followed Chaor’s lead and ran up to Von Bloot, Panthro went behind Von Bloot and skillfully swung his nunchuk around while Kat went in front of him and used his kunai to quickly stab at his chest. Von Bloot laughed off their efforts to hurt him, before he reached behind him and grabbed Panthro by his neck before he effortlessly threw him at Kat. When Panthro collided with Kat, the two anthros slid across the rooftop for a good while as Kat tried to anchor himself into place, only coming to a stop near the edge. Kat gently let Panthro down, and as the thundercat rubbed his throat Kat pulled out a pistol and reached his arm over and past Panthro’s muscular shoulder before firing at Von Bloot several times. Von Bloot simply chuckled as the bullets had no visible effect on his body. Kat kept shooting until his gun was out of ammo and he growled in frustration,
“What the hell? Are you bullet-proof?” Kat asked angrily,
“It would appear so, thanks to the girl’s magic,” Von Bloot replied smugly. Panthro got back on his feet and helped Kat back to his,
“Don’t let him faze you Kat, no defense is perfect, we’ll find a way to get past it,” Panthro explained. Von Bloot shot fireball from his palm towards Kat and Panthro exclaiming-
“Flame Orb!” As he did. The two Anthros quickly dodged by sidestepping before moving away from the edge. Chaor took the opportunity to run up to Von Bloot and throw a few punches at his chest then rest an outstretched palm against Von Bloot before exclaiming-
“Lavalanche!”. Suddenly lava inexplicably gushed out of Chaor’s palm and flowed all around Von Bloot in a violent stream before going past him and off the side of the castle roof. When Chaor’s attack concluded the red devil looked at the teal harpy in surprise to see that the lava didn’t harm him in the slightest, before Von Bloot could make a move though, Kat quickly rushed behind him, jumped on his shoulders as a dark aura surrounded him, and attempted to drain the power that surrounded Von Bloot, though Von Bloot simply laughed, reached to his shoulders, grabbing Kat by his neck, before slamming him down against Chaor, essentially using the hybrid like a blunt weapon and sending them both roughly to the ground. A stinging sensation buzzed through Kat’s body, being the worst at his chest, where he came into contact with Chaor’s tough body,
“Haven’t you been listening? Or are you deaf in all four of your ears? I’m not using dark magic to boost myself like the last time we fought, I’m using the magic of that girl, which isn’t inherently dark or evil in nature,” Von Bloot explained,
“Dammit that’s right, that was a reckless oversight on my part…” Kat thought to himself as both he and Chaor attempted to recompose themselves and get back on their feet. As Kat and Chaor attempted to get back up, Von Bloot raised his foot up high and hovered it above the two, though just as he was about to stomp down, Panthro ran over to Von Bloot and managed to catch his foot as it was going down. With a grunt, Panthro forcefully threw Von Bloot’s foot back, causing the underworlder to flip backwards, though in the moment during the flip where no part of Von Bloot was touching the ground, Von Bloot flapped his wings and kept himself airborne and flew out of the range of his three opponents, laughing all the while. Panthro quickly helped Kat and Chaor back to their feet before all three of them turned their attention towards Von Bloot up in the air,
“I could destroy you all right now.. But that’d be no fun, especially since on the way over here I overheard your friend falling victim to my dart trap, so I want you to waste time and energy in the futile fight against me, as your friend slowly succumbs to his poisoning. Then, after you and the rest of your friends are defeated.. I’ll make all of you my servants, I think you’d all look good wearing blue collars,” Von Bloot commented smugly,
“I hope the others are having better luck in their battles…” Kat thought to himself.

Meanwhile, Sulley and Shadow Ranger were continuing their battle against Krekk. Transforming gave Doggie a huge advantage since the yellow gargoyle was surprisingly fast in his empowered state, though Shadow Ranger was still finding it hard to land a decent hit, and since Sulley wasn't nearly as fast as either the buffed Krekk or Shadow Ranger, he was forced to wait on the sidelines for an opportunity to help his teammate. Fireballs and several other energy attacks flew all around as Shadow Ranger kept skillfully swinging his shadow saber in order to both deflect the attacks as well as attack Krekk. After several minutes, Sulley got tired of waiting and decided to pick up a nearby piece of furniture and threw it at Krekk. The underworlder dodged the furniture with ease by taking to the air, causing the furniture to keep flying and break against the wall. Sulley then threw several more pieces of furniture at Krekk, all of which he managed to dodge with ease with quick aerial movements,
"Sulley! What are you doing?" Shadow Ranger asked,
"Trying to help you!" Sulley explained in frustration,
"Sulley, his boost makes him too fast for you to hit, just leave him to me," Shadow Ranger replied,
"No way, I stayed behind to help you for a reason! I'm just as tough as you!" Sulley argued. Krekk then dropped between the two Anthros and shot a beam from his eyes at Shadow Ranger as he exclaimed-
"Paral-eyes!" Upon being hit by the attack, Shadow Ranger froze up and a strange aura surrounded his body,
"Doggie!" Sulley explained before he furrowed his brow and was about to swing at Krekk. Before Sulley's fist could make contact with Krekk however, a disgusting brownish red fluid gushed out of Krekk's mouth and got all over Sulley. Just as Sulley was feeling disgusted, he saw his fur being dyed the color of rust as it was getting heavier and harder to move and the creaks of metal could be heard as he kept trying to move his body,
"Ugh, what is this? My body weighs a ton!" Sulley cried out as he kept trying to move,
"Rustoxic, now you both are stuck in place, so I think it's time to end this," said Krekk with a smile,
"No…" said Sulley as he desperately struggled against the increased weight of his fur,
"And since you didn't want to wait your turn, I think I'll start with you!" Said Krekk as he directed a hand towards the immobilized Sulley and a fireball formed in it. Just as Krekk was about to shoot the fireball at Sulley however, Shadow Ranger promptly ran towards Krekk and punched him in the face, sending him back. Shadow Ranger then stood in front of Sulley and readied his sword,
"Wow, you shook off that attack fast, I guess you're ready for round two.." said Krekk with a smile as he took to the air once again. Shadow Ranger then looked over his shoulder,
"Sulley… don't worry, I'll protect you," said Doggie in a calm tone, causing a troubled expression to appear on Sulley's face,
"Protect me?... But, I'm just as strong as you, aren't I?" Sulley thought to himself as Krekk began to throw fireballs.

Jon and Leomon were having better luck, while Skithia's Drawskin kept herself unharmed for quite some time, a combined attack between the two Anthros was enough to overwhelm the battlegear and shatter it. After Skithia picked herself off the ground she dusted herself off and looked at the two Anthros,
"Impressive, you managed to get past my Drawskin," Skithia commented,
"That's right, and since it's the two of us against you, I'm confident we'll be able to take you down in no time and go aid our other allies!" Said Leomon,
"You think so huh?... Well then I guess I should take out one of you," said Skithia as she raised her hand to the ceiling with one hand and pulled out and held a generic mugic in the other. Just as Jon and Leomon were wondering what Skithia was up to, she shot a energy blast towards the ceiling while also activating her mugic,
"Song of Reversal! Swap locations!" Said Skithia as the mugic rang out a tune and a large part of the ceiling crumbled and was starting to fall. Just as the rubble was about to fall on Skithia however, a strange light surrounded both her and Leomon, and within a moment, both of them changed positions in the room, so Leomon was beneath the falling rubble while Skithia was safely away from it and beside Jon,
"Wait what-?!" Said Leomon before the rubble fell on top of him, completely burying him. Jon's eyes widened when he saw what happened to Leomon,
"Leomon!" The werewolf exclaimed as he ran over to the large pile of rubble and started taking the large rocks off as quickly as he could. Jon's attempt to save Leomon was interrupted when Skithia threw a fireball at him, which Jon barely managed to dodge. Jon growled as he turned his attention towards Skithia,
"It's too late for him wolf, and you seem like the last person who would delude themselves, so forget about him and fight me!" Said Skithia as she readied another fireball. Jon growled as he put himself in a battle ready pose, as much as he didn't want to believe it, he thought that there was no way Leomon could've survived being buried by the rubble, so with a heavy heart, he battled on,
"You won't get away with this witch!" Said Jon angrily before he lunged at Skithia with his Beast Cannon technique.

Winston wasn't doing so good in his battle either, even with his jump pack, Takinom's wings gave her much more consistent aerial control, and though Winston's shield generator and Tesla cannon helped keep him in the fight, he couldn't seem to get the upper hand. Several minutes passed, fireballs were thrown, strands of plasma flew around, and though neither fighter was letting up, Winston was clearly reaching his limit much faster. Winston growled as he wiped his brow,
"I stayed in the lab for too long… I've gotten rusty," Winston thought to himself before Takinom swooped towards him and he sent her back with a punch. Though upon regaining her composure and wiping the blood off her face, Takinom took out an underworlder mugic,
"Nicely punch, let's see if you can rely on it," said Takinom before she activated her mugic,
"Discord of Disarming! Destroy his weapon!" Takinom exclaimed as a melody rang through the air before a beam of light shined on Winston's Tesla cannon, causing sparks to fly from it. Winston's eyes widened and he tried using his cannon as the song came to a stop, but nothing was coming out of it, the cannon was broken. Winston growled as he tossed his cannon aside,
"You'll pay for that…" Winston commented as he tried to suppress his anger,
"We'll see, monkey," Takinom replied with a smile, causing Winston to go into a primal rage.

Nothing noteworthy happened during Beast and Agitos' fight, both were strong, though both also lacked combat experience, in Agitos' case it was because he was more of a motivator than a soldier and for Beast's case it was because he stayed in his castle for so long and never fought when he didn't need to. Several minutes passed between the two that consisted of them exchanging blows, with neither gaining the upper hand. Though Kuriboh and H'earring's battle was another story. H'earring threw all sorts of attacks at Kuriboh, as Kuriboh created multiple clones to help him block the attacks and disorient the underworlder as he tried to look for an opening to attack. There wasn't a dull moment as the battle between the two smallest members of each team raged on.

Since Mercenary’s poisoning, forty minutes passed as the battles in the castle raged on, back on the castletop, no progress was being made towards damaging Von Bloot, and Kat was growing increasingly more worried,
“No… so much time has passed, Mercenary doesn’t have much longer left, but.. We can’t even scratch him! I’ve tried every sort of weapon I could pull from my vortexes, tried hitting him in any pressure point I could find, and he can overpower both Panthro and Chaor combined!” Kat thought to himself as he clenched his fist,
“Kat! Don’t you dare give up! We can still pull off a win!” said Panthro hopefully as he dusted himself off,
“No, I assure you it’s quite impossible, and that being said I think I’ve had quite enough fun with you three, I think it’s time I ended this,” Von Bloot explained before he pulled out two underworlder mugic and promptly activated them. Upon hearing the mugic play out, Chaor’s eyes widened,
“That song… it’s…” said Chaor before Von Bloot spoke up,
“Decomposition! Destroy Chaor and Panthro!” said Von Bloot before the mugic dissipated and two rays of light shined down upon Panthro and Chaor, causing them to groan in pain, as if being in the light caused discomfort. Within moments the two of them were on their knees while Kat simply looked at them in confusion. Right after the rays disappeared, Kat rushed over to Panthro, knelt down to him, and put a comforting hand on his shoulder, while Von Bloot simply watched with a smile on his face and his arms crossed,
“Panthro! Are you ok, partner?” Kat asked in concern. Panthro rubbed his eyes and looked up at Kat, though as soon as he saw Kat his eyes widened and he cowered away from him,
“Panthro! What’s wrong?” Kat asked in concern,
“St-Stay away from me demon!” Panthro cried out fearfully,
“Demon? Panthro snap out of it, you’re not acting like yourself, you’re acting like a coward!” said Kat with a concerned tone. Kat then turned his attention to Chaor, who was acting similar,
“G-Go away!” Chaor cried out while trembling,
“Panthro, Chaor, what’s gotten into you guys?” Kat asked in confusion,
“My mugic is what’s gotten into them,” Von Bloot explained, Kat then turned his attention towards Von Bloot,
“Your mugic? What did your mugic do exactly?” Kat asked,
“Decomposition, a very rare and deadly mugic, before this battle, I’ve only ever used it once before, it rapidly drains the Courage, Power, Wisdom, and Speed of a creature and puts it in a special stone for just about anyone to break open for the taking,” Von Bloot explained,
“So that’s why they’re acting like they’re scared of their own shadows…” Kat commented,
“Indeed, I decided I’m ok with them being cowardly, weak, idiotic and slow when they work for me, they’ll make for good entertainment, and I can take their power for myself to make myself even deadlier, and I won’t stop with them, overtime I’ll take control of other hero teams to expand my army, eventually, not even Mumm-Ra will be able to stand up to me!” said Von Bloot proudly,
“Mumm-Ra? I thought he was your teammate,” Kat commented,
“You naive little fool, do you really think us villains are as buddy-buddy as you heroes? We don’t team up because we want to make the world a better place, we team up to conquer and destroy! Given the opportunity I would take every one in the Syndicate down if it meant furthering my goal, especially that fool Mumm-Ra!” Von Bloot explained,
“That’s nice and all, but why didn’t you use the mugic on me?” Kat asked. Von Bloot suddenly approached him and held him up by his throat,
“Because I have no use for you, you’re a rebellious little fool, and I know that even with the threat of the collar killing you, you’d never submit to me, in other words, you’d just die later regardless, honestly I don’t know what Mumm-Ra sees in you,” Von Bloot commented, causing Kat’s eyes to widen as he kept trying to free himself from Von Bloot’s grip,
“Oh that’s right, you don’t know, Mumm-Ra has an interest with you and your powers, he thinks that you’ll be able to aid in his goals of getting the power stones, hence why he told us to avoid killing you if we can, though I don’t really care about his goals,” said Von Bloot with a smile before he looked towards the side of the rooftop. Von Bloot let out a devious chuckle as Kat came to realize how helpless he was in his current situation, no matter how he looked at it, it was impossible to save himself from his fate, let alone the fates of his friends, especially Mercenary,
“Farewell feline,” said Von Bloot before he effortlessly threw Kat over the side of the roof, so he could fall to his doom. As Kat fell, he didn’t scream in terror, but rather closed his eyes and waited to hit the ground. Normally Panthro would have been devastated to see his partner thrown to his doom, but in his current state he couldn’t even recognize Kat, let alone feel worry for him, from his and Chaor’s perspective, it just looked like a big terrifying abomination dealing with a much smaller abomination. Von Bloot then turned his attention back towards Panthro and Chaor,
“Now that he’s taken care of, I’d like to have some fun with you two for some time before I put your collars on you,” Von Bloot explained as he readied a fireball.

Von Bloot then proceeded to spend the next few minutes toying with Panthro and Chaor by throwing attacks at them and watching them run around and dodge them as they yelled in terror, it felt euphoric for the underworlder to see the leader of one of the greatest hero teams around, and his greatest enemy run around like chickens with their heads cut off as he threw all the attacks he pleased at them. The lower parts of the castle wasn’t fairing much better, Krekk had managed to damage Doggie to the point of powering down, Jon was exhausted and Skithia clearly had the upper hand against him, Winston was now doing his best just to avoid Takinom’s attacks, and he was growing more sluggish by the minute, Beast and Agitos were still at an impasse, and Kuriboh was started to reach his limits from creating so many multiplications. A full five minutes passed before Von Bloot let out a haunting cackle,
“This is it! I can already see it in the history books! This is the fall of the Anthros of Justice and Chaor, you fools thought you were untouchable for so long, but when you fly too close to the sun, you’re bound to get burned! Clearly, I’m the winner of this elaborate game of chess!,” said Von Bloot proudly, though miraculously, a familiar voice objected-
“Not so fast Von Bloot”, causing Von Bloot to gain a puzzled look on his face,
“Huh?” said Von Bloot in confusion. Suddenly, a large bolt of blue lightning erupted from the side of the castle, curiously originating from the ground and going towards the sky, before a familiar hybrid dropped down from above and landed between both Von Bloot and his allies. Von Bloot looked at Kat as if he had seen a ghost, not only was the hybrid alive and well, but a powerful dark aura flowed around his body as his red eyes glowed and the blue highlights in his hair seemed to be missing. Kat then struck a confident pose,
“Kat, Act 1: Speed Demon!” said Kat confidently as the three people with him on the roof looked at him with confusion, not realizing that this would mark the start of quite the turnabout.
