Alkahest may not be the most popular heroine in Colmaton at the moment, and technically she's more like a soldier anyway, but that doesn't stop her from trying to enforce the law. Slipstream has already met the jaguar, and he's been making his own observations and opinions of her. Blind he may be, but you can't quite beat this panther's intuition, and what it's told him is that Alkahest is a very lonely individual. This makes her an ideal candidate to track down and try to brighten her day, because he does believe that she's a good person, and good people deserve to have a friend. Annoying and pestering of course are his way of breaking the ice, but baby steps people!
