Here she is! Basilisk was the runner up in my poll contest to see which Zodiac villain would appear next so I hope this is a pleasant surprise to see her this early.
Some people might think that Basilisk is an evil version of Scorpio but that is only true in how her powers operate. Like Scorpio she is very agile and she can take down opponents no matter how physically tough they are with ease. However, as far as her origin she is more similar to Pisces in that she volunteered for an experiment to make her better able to serve her county. Unlike Pisces, the proceedure turned her against her superiors to such a level that she became a villain.
I know it is a bit stereotypical to have an anthro snake as a villain but there have to be some of them and it really fit with the concept for a villain named basilisk. She could have bee any kind of reptile really but I thought a cobra would be cool to see. Something I've not drawn before y'know?

Arlington, Virginia, by any chance? That _is_ one rich county...
Seriously, though, I'm both interested in and scared by the members of Nightmare's group of twelve so far, so I look forward to both the introduction of the rest and their upcoming fight with Zodiac. Does Nightmare's group have a name, or might it be something that she chooses to reveal/exposit later?

Sometimes, it just detracts from the whole to go against stereotype for the sake of avoiding stereotype. In an anthro series, someone who goes by the name basilisk should be reptilian (or at least share enough resemblances to the namesake in some way), and what more iconic and fitting animal than a cobra? As it goes, "the oldest tricks in the book get old because they still work". I wonder if she can make her weakening rays subtle enough her victim doesn't even know what hit them? Classic "look into my eyes" manuever. I'm curious to see who else you got coming, as each villain so far is certainly distinct in their personality.
Thank you. I'm glad someone sees that value of that as well. It would have been stupid to have like a panda as the character Basilisk.
As far as I've planned it, Basilisk's powers are pretty obvious. There is a flash of her eyes whenever she uses them. If she wanted to kill someone with stealth and subtlety, she is well trained for that. Her eye powers are her "ace" if you will. She brings them out when things have gone ugly.
