He realizes how ironic this sounds. Don't worry, he's proud that he's some silly disembodied head in a gumball machine.
It's been a long, long time since I drew some Yooka-Laylee art, and figured I might as well tackle the diabolical duck Dr. Quack! This picture has been sitting in my WIP folders for several months now so I figured I might as well bite the bullet and finish it.
Dr. Quack was not one of my favorite characters in Yooka-Laylee despite the fact that he fits a lot of character tropes that I like (backstabber, mad scientist, cyborg, green and purple) because I felt like he was outshined by his business partner Capital B on the personality front, but then a recent kickstarter happened that funded a comic where I feel really solidified Dr. Quack's character *and* gave him a lovely set of robotic arms, and that is Yooka-Laylee and the Kracklestone by Dreamprism Press.
I think seeing him as the truly backstabbing mastermind that was actively working against Capital B's interests really made me realize I liked the really nutty duck. He really is self-serving and he really does believe that he's an absolute genius, and if he burns every bridge in the process of showing how smart he is, well, tough tamales.
