To make
Bluey_The_Battlebug happy, here is another trainer of mine! My boy Shay. He's actually not a trainer primarily. He's a sports professional. Extreme sports. Sky diving, boarding, cycling. List one of those, he's probably got an award for it. He's also a contest professional. Basically... he's kinda like James in a way, lol. He is a master of the Quick-Change though.
These aren't without cause though. Mother's side of the family comes with a few traditions. For one, they tend to be named after plants. Shay's comes from Shea Butter, (Which is actually the name of the female version). They are also pretty big on cooking. Each female of his mom's generation focused on something. Breeding, Battling, and in his mom's case, contests. His uncle on his dad's side was a sports star. Shay learned from both.

The art is from the ever awesome RogueDoodles, who has done a LOT of human art for me, and through me for Blue as well, even a piece or two for Gryphus. I love their work so much!
And on to writing a bit of the story for him.
Shay was young when his family moved to Alola. His mother wanted to introduce contests to the region, and his father brought the whole family along. At the time, Shay was about your average young poke-verse child. Lots of energy, always curious, brave to a fault and a full head of curly black hair. He even inherited something from his father. Psychic abilities. Or at least the potential. His father was a move tutor and reminder, two human-pokemon interaction abilities routed in inherent psychic abilities.
He made friends and played a lot and even decided to prove how brave he was by taking on the haunted cave near their town. Said cave really was haunted, though mostly by ghost pokemon. A specific ghost pokemon far more powerful than her species should allow who went by Morrigan. She did take a liking to Shay though, and after properly scaring the lad away, would more or less haunt him when bored.
Shay's major turning point came when he was around 8. He was attacked by a wild pokemon one night. No one knows what caused it, but a yungoos savaged him, ripping into his back and neck with an intent to kill, not just knock out. It was only the fact that Morrigan had a hobby of following him around that saved him. Well, first she drove it off. Following him had started as an interesting thing to do, but she bonded and did not care kindly to the though of loosing him. But even so... he was slowly dying, bleeding out.
She did what she could. She had to, as far as she was concerned. Unfortunately, her means were limited. She used dream eater to feed on his pain and turn it to nourishment for her, then painsplit to try and help him recover. She pulled on his spirit to keep him anchored, draining power from the surroundings to try to strengthen him. And at the same time she rang out in Heal Bell and song not just to try and soothe the pain she herself caused trying to heal him, but as a summon.
And answered it was, in quite the fashion. One of the Guardians of the Deep, the local Lugia came. With threats and promises and favours, she got him to act, and he blessed Shay with a Silver Wing, managing to mostly stabilize the severely injured child, but marking him in the process, turning his hair entirely silver. As the Lugia left, the commotion attracted the attention of a passerby. The shinx of a young trainer, a trainer who was able to call for the human help Shay needed.
Still, the event far from left Shay unchanged. His back still bars the scars from the attack, and some internal damage from the bites on his neck have scarred his windpipe, leaving him limited in the volume, forever soft spoken, and also prone to mute periods, from both physiological and psychological damage, only able to produce squeaks and other wordless sounds. Even worse, Morrigans efforts to save him self him with psychic and psychological trauma manifesting as an intense somewhat irrational fear of pokemon that he would work to overcome for the next decade.
Life moves on though. Even unable to relate to pokemon or stay in their presence too long, Shay grew up, pursuing extreme sports since there was a clarity there he loved, moments when the tension of his fears left him and were overwhelmed by the joy. He still attended pokemon school, with a special arrangement due to his condition. Even developed enough to get a support pokemon, an eevee named Cece.
Morrigan never left him though. She had a tie to him now, and felt protective of the child. And fate drew him and that trainer who found him back together, as she too moved to Alola, having just been visiting at the time. Their encounter though was an unexpected one, as he got introduced to her panty-less full moon before he was introduced to her face to face.
Friendship, and eventually love blossomed between them though, and they became a strong couple, and a supportive one. In time even Morrigan revealed herself, helped by Shay's ability to passively understand pokemon and his emphatic ones. She also brought to light the bulk of Shay's past demons, a literal grudge-like spirit the trauma of the night left in him. He did in fact die in the wild that night before lugia managed to bring him back. A sobering thought. But one they got through together.
Their adventures in the alola region where quite impressive though. A lot revolving around Shay's connection to the lugias of the region, as a villainous team sought to capture and control the Eldest Lugia. Over the course of it, and from the need, Shay got the ability to become a pokemon, a ralts and eventually gallade. And then a variant form from literally nagging the legends so much and aspect of Arceus obliged. Though part of that might be linked to Morrigan's secrets.
Ash got one too, a Lucario form, and both play at being each other's pokemon as needed. Their lives have come a long way, and will continue to do so. Morrigan's secrets are still there to be discovered, and what role she plays in multiple worlds and timelines, as well as the ancient past. Shay's connection to the lugia's is not just a passing line in his biology, as a visit to jhoto would unveil. Ash's own connect with Sinnoh and her former international police member grandfather has a factor in things. As does Shay's potential to, in time, become something of a pokemon professor in his own right, mentored by Kukui.
But that, my dear readers, are all stories for the future.

Bob the Crobat is scared of people and to a lesser extent open spaces on his own (Shay found him hiding in a tree on his property as a zubat), and loves being Shay's flight pack.
Charlie the araquanid is naive but very good intentioned, forgets other pokemon can't breath in water, and forgets he's the size of a small car and can't fit through regular doorways easily.
Cece the espeon is a voyeur and writes (originally) thinly veiled smut about Ash and Shay. She's got a website now and posts smut and romance stories online. Also, she swaps mind with Ash and Shay and her boyfriend, Ash's luxio, for kinky human sex.
Morri[gan] was a witch in a previous life, and still knows some spells and loves messing with people including Shay and Ash, and is even worse than Cece is.
Kino the Torracat was gift to Shay when he more or less resolved his pokemon issues, and still questions what's wrong with his new family.
