a "Christmas" story, for lack of a better description.

i've been in an ongoing funk for the past few weeks. i can't go too far into detail, but a number of things in my personal life have made it really hard to keep things in order, and i've started to feel as if that has impacted my ability to write well, or at least in the way i want to write. the past few stories i've felt strongly obligated to make things dark and serious, even though i'm not sure that's how i want things to feel overall in my writings. i promise the next story will be lighthearted and not at all feel like i'm trying to be overdramatic.

either way, enjoy this one, because i at least hope that it's still good despite not really embodying the holiday spirit.

shoutouts to aquajack, whose kind words on another story motivated me to write this story out of a dead end and finish it tonight.

also, should i stick with writing exclusively-general audience material or should i dip back into writing mature/adult stuff? i'm not entirely confident in my ability to write graphic sort of stuff without it coming off as strange
