I've been drawing my Dungeons and Dragons character Auru a bunch, so I figure I may as well post them.
Their name is Auru Serume, using They/He pronouns. 18 years old. 6'2" and weighs 110 pounds. They're of noble decent, and has been trained by their father to be a fighter.
Sadly, they're rather anxious and scared of adventuring due to past events. Though they also want to adventure in order to be free and explore the world. To be able to fly free without having to worry about status, both literally and figuratively.
They're still young and as such, they're still learning about themself and their true desires. Hopefully time out of their parent's home, and experiencing life for themself will help them realize who they truly are. Help them be able to explore themself without judgement.
I also wrote some prompts about them: <Here>

I miss playing D&D. Those were great times.
I like your character's name. Would you say you get into character while playing? I always enjoyed acting the part through my voice along with imagining what my character was doing.
The story for Auru is quite good. Lots of room for character growth as you go on different adventures.
Thanks for sharing, Plinkers. :)

Auru’s name took a bit to figure out. I’m glad you like it though~
I get into character playing all of my characters admittedly. Auru is one of my new favorites though. Like right next to turquoise favorite. I’ve drawn Auru diapered as well, though that doesn’t happen In the dungeons and dragons game. That’s just my own fun artwork and expression.
To describe Auru for you, for a better mental picture, they’re quite tall and lean. However, their clothes hide how lean they are. They’re fair skinned, with a bit of a tan. Their hair is brown and is in a somewhat androgynous style, with the left side of their hair shaved short, and the right side overgrown to about shoulder-length. The long hair is styled such a way to cover the right side of their face. They also have nice brown eyes, framed nicely by eyelashes. The ear that is visible, the left ear, has scarring and has had a chunk removed from its bottom. Their eyes betray their mild nervousness but they’re still smiling.
Their coat is a thick, rich long coat with chain mail hidden within. It’s a dark olive color and reaches down to the back of Auru’s thighs. Though it’s also armored with golden colored metal at the shoulders and elbows. Auru’s family crest lies on the coat as well. Around their waist, they wear two smaller bags at their hips, almost like dual oversized fanny packs. Their pants are stereotypically puffy in order to hide his lean legs (think akin to those ye olden day puffy pants). They also wear long boots that are golden metal tipped at the end.
Their weapon of choice is a naginata. It’s what they’re most comfortable with. They have to maneuver it with two hands but it’s both powerful and has the capacity of reach if needed.

Ooh! Thanks much, Plinkers! The visuals you provided definitely add to the character appeal.
*Giggles* Perhaps a little padding would be their secret when not out questing? Take a nice chance to find a special hideaway wherein they can feel safe in being cared for. It would definitely be a great way to spend coins gained from adventures.
***
"So...," remarks a colleague. "What did you do before we got asked to take on this particular threat?"
Auru stumbles for just a moment.
"Not much," they reply. "Just goofed around, read some books. Those sort of things."
Another party member pokes Auru.
"Why do you tend to not bring much financial provisions when we head off on these quests?" they ask. "Spending it all in the gambling district?"
Aurur smiles.
"I donate it to children," they reply.
A bothered team member.
"Enough small talk," they state. "We're paid to get the mission complete. Not to talk about what little Auru is doing when away from the group."

Ah! They wear pantaloons! One can never go wrong with ye olde' pantaloons!

Ha, Auru does do that. Gets all small and safe in privacy, kind of anyway. Their tailor friend helps with making them feel cared for. It was easier for Auru to do it before they went off on their adventure though. Currently for them, its a bit difficult to find private time when not adventuring. Plus most of their supplies are with their friend.
Haha, I like the little story blurb. Auru does love reading books when small. And they also adore wordplay, so that would be their way of explaining away where their money goes sometimes. Though their current party is a bit more understanding.

So Auru's party is aware of how they like being in a 'little space'? How cool!
Does it ever come up, maybe on days you aren't available to play, that Auru has temporarily left the party to soothe their nerves? It would be a safe way of keeping Auru safe when you are not there to play them.
I imagine Auru is a very caring individual who does like to be cared for but would also like the opportunity to do the caring and protecting. Perhaps this could be part of why Auru does not identify with a particular gender? Gender's are stereotyped and Auru, based on just guessing, seems like they are not happy with being in a world that insists they be either one, or the other. So, to escape such nonsense, Auru dresses, and maybe acts?, in ways that go either as more masculine or more feminine?
I apologize if my banter is way-way off. Auru has just got me thinking a lot of my own struggles growing up. Being in a small town and having few who understood my capabilities put me into a constant state of feeling 'non-masculine'. I felt, and still feel, I relate more as a female. Seriously, when I was 18, all I wanted in life was a family and child to care for. This is not typical male behavior by societal standards. (This is why you will see Yosh in girls clothing at times. It is kind of that representation on how I, based on society, feel conflicted as a result of gender stereotypes)
The above is compounded by how I have held jobs where I was populated more by females than males. Though I have a great difficulty making 'male' friends and an easy time making friends with females.
*Blush* Sorry for being so off-track. I just like to roll with ideas when inspired. So I thank you for helping me think more on my efforts to find my place in RL where I can belong. :)

Haha, I've done that a few times on days I can't play. Though I'm not as clear of it being an ageplay thing. Last time "Auru" needed a break they got a very nice massage to get all the kinks out of their back muscles.
Auru is pretty caring, you're correct. They like protecting people and whatnot, the downside is that always protecting people can be tiring. Hence their desire to have the opportunities to be small and "helpless" and not needing to worry about things and just be cared for.
Auru is honestly still figuring themself out as well. They're young, 18 years old, and have recently left home to explore and adventure. Back home, Auru was expected to be a great noble son by his parents. A fighter and someone to bring greatness to the family name (keep up the good work so to speak). As such, with being at home and having to keep up appearances, they had to be more masculine than they particularly liked to be.
Now that they're adventuring though, they have a lot more freedom. The exchange of less safety brings more opportunities to explore oneself. They'll be able to wear dresses and just explore and be free more than they have been able to at home. As anxiety inducing as this whole adventuring thing is, Auru think's it's worth it for their friends and this alone.
The banter doesn't bother me at all. It's nice to just think and have ideas on my characters, brainstorming and whatnot. It's why I love the prompts to help flesh out Auru and their life experiences. Please do tell me what you think of what I've written by the way. If the website isn't friendly to your screen reader I can privately send you a link to the google document I've written in.)
You're welcome. I like writing struggles into my characters, mostly born from myself and my own issues. It's a good way to express oneself and work through difficult situations that might not be easy to do "on your own" so to speak. As such a lot of my characters have a lot of things going on with their ideas of self expression and purpose and mental health. Not all at once though, it's split pretty decently.

I really like your prompts. They read very well and paint a very understandable picture as to why Auru is who they are.
Auru, from what I've gathered, wants to make his family proud but has a desire that they could do it without having to be in battle / life-threatening situations to do so. They are also conflicted from what the family has told them is defining of a good fighter and what they have personally observed.
The love of flight is very interesting as it goes beyond saying, "One day, I will fly!". It is more a sense of 'freedom' to Auru. They like knowing they can access places that are out of reach of danger and/or stress. They also enjoy having the speed to feel like they are flying as feeling that there is no boundaries is like saying how Auru doesn't need to feel as confined in their life as expectations and social norms try to push on them.
Auru's comfort in his coat and chain mail makes sense, too. It's not just extra defense but also a feeling of security against even anxiety-related trouble. It's weight, I imagine, is kind of like a tight reassuring hug that helps Auru know they'll be okay. This may explain more on why they initially hesitate in combat. Remembering the coat / chain mail is like a silent of whisper of "Don't worry. I'll keep you safe.".
Yep, yep! Thanks for letting me know more on the prompts so I could read them. They actually make me curious as to why you don't put any other writing up on here? You're quite good in painting scenes, feelings, memories, etc. I definitely had some good visuals of Auru.
I also, based on years of friendship, can pick up on some of the traits you empowered from yourself to Auru. I'm glad they can be a way of working through emotions along with providing you control over feelings that real life often allows for no control.
Yosh, to me, does all this. Though I am sure you have long noticed this and it isn't too much of a surprise. <LoL!>

You got it all!! Haha. Pretty much a lot of the subtext anyhow. With their parents, their love of flight and obtaining wings, and the coat. The coat also helps as a weighted blanket (which I’ve heard are good for anxiety. )
As for why I don’t have much wiring up there, or here. I don’t write all too much.i have an undertale one shot I need to post, but other than turquoise babysitting and another story that I need to draw art for, I don’t have that many stories finished. Though whenever I do post them I’ll let you take a read at them.
Also thank you for the complements. It means a lot and it helps motivate me.
