Whenever you make fun of someone's disability, situation, or anything else they have no influence on, it hurts. They aren't worse people. They are facing life's unfairness, and now you are being unfair to them, too.
Have you ever wondered what motivates you to share such gossip? "I've heard they did this and that"? Do you think it makes you cool? What if you are just spreading lies? Do you really want to live in a society where, at any time, someone can create a detailed, nasty story about you, based on a tiny little mishap of yours? Or worse, based on nothing but somebody's imagination?
If you have been treated unfairly, can you tell the difference between warning others and plain vengeance? Do you understand the difference between spreading the toxicity yourself and venting to a friend? Couldn't you keep the furmeet fun and avoid such discussion?
Wouldn't you rather keep things positive?

She's blaming politicians and 'world leaders' for doing nothing address the current climate crisis and let ti worsen and make life hard for every single one of us.
As far as I know, she's not blaming her autism on anyone, rather calling it her 'superpower' that allows her to focus and have the strength and energy to go and speak to all of the 'world leaders' and carry her message.

Your wrong, she's standing up for what she believes in is hurting our planet and environment. She's trying to make the world a much cleaner and safer place. I think of her disability as a superpower, one that needs to be shared with the world. She's an amazing individual with strength and determination that I applaud her for showing that kind of bravery standing to the people who need to here what she believes needs to be heard around the world.
You probably have no idea what it's like to do such a thing do you and you probably don't even know the daily struggles of having a disability. She's not blaming anyone, at least that's what I think in my opinion. She's standing up for what I think is the right thing to be doing and speaking out despite what all the haters are saying about her.

I do have the idea because in the past I did it how you should do it right: Instead of complaining and whining on the media I made a concept myself how it has to be done and all.
Only problem for me: Nobody reads it and those who do steal the ideas and "sell" it as their own.
In her case it's really just whining without even showing up how it should be done right, the concepts and ideas should be done by others, that's not productive that's just embarassing, really.

She's not whining, she's making a point of how this world needs to be a much better place. She's speaking out in her own individual unique way even if that may come across as whining to some individuals like you. Sorry you feel that way but I think she's a pretty awesome person who's speaking out and that in my eyes takes a lot of guts and bravery.
People like you need to keep your words to yourself if all your going to do is spew negativity to strong individuals like her.

Whatever, you have your opinion and I have mine but all I'm saying is that she's just trying to change the world with some positive outcomes that could happen to our environment if we have much more efficient and cleaner ways for the planet. Everyone has their own unique way of speaking and that's just her way of getting the word across but in a much powerful way. At least I think she has plenty of well thought-out plans.
To me, your opinion sounds pretty close-minded and you can't even begin to appreciate a voice that could possibly change the world for the better. I didn't come here to fight, I just saw your comment and had to at least stand up and say how I felt about this. I will not put up with ignorant comments such as yours! I'm done, I'm not going to say anymore.

nobody appreciates my better efforts to change the world for better either, which is why I don't have any respect for those who only cry around instead of working as hard as I do everyday. And no, I am not jealous, I can not be jealous about someone who is lightyears less intelligent than me.
Never said you were jealous...lol
Now your going to try to make everyone feel sorry for you. Not going to work lol and by the way Greta is as much intelligent as anyone else otherwise she wouldn't be where she is now. Same as me, I went to college for at least 4 years and worked my ass off for myself to get to where I am so I can have a better decent paying job while doing what I love to do, I had to fight my way through a lot of doubters who said I was never capable of doing so. If it weren't for the hard work I put in for that many years I don't know where I would be today if it weren't for the support of my family and friends and my determination. I would think that's pretty smart and intelligent. Don't ever say someone else is less intelligent because in my eyes we all are perfectly capable of intelligence, disabilities or not. You are a sad sad individual with a very weak mind-set.
I'm done, I'm not wasting anymore of my breath on you....

I read through all your comments here and I feel like you don't really know what you're talking about on so many levels it kinda hurts. If everyone who had a problem with the way things were in the past had shut their mouths and said nothing, nothing would exist the way it does today; the reason that 'rule' is in place in the military is so whiners don't constant come forward complaining about their discomfort and unhappiness with how the military life is. BTW, this is *not* the same as life outside the military.
What would you do if a politician in your town started doing something that was a problem for you and everyone around you, and was causing additional problems to appear, but you had no immediate answer as to what could be done? If you were smart, you would call for that thing to be stopped or delayed while ideas were worked out to make it less damaging and problematic, not simply let them keep doing what they're doing because you couldn't come up with something better other than, "stop doing that."
Greta Thunberg is one kid. She doesn't understand all the facets of the various governments that control the world, nor does she know in detail all the damage that worldwide pollution is causing. But *everyone* knows pollution is happening and influencing the environment in a negative way, and she doesn't want to grow up into a world that's been destroyed already past the point of repair because of it. And so she speaks out. Her suggestion is simple to me at least. "You know what's happening is bed. Do something about it, rather than sit and watch it get worse."
Encouraging the people in power to pay more attention to something bad is not blaming them for anything; it's just informing them about a situation they need to pay attention to and work to deal with more urgently.
Using your military idea as an example, suppose you had been told to guard a massive dam, and noticed that there was a crack in it that was leaking increasingly large amounts of water. If this continued, the dam would burst and flood the camp, maybe drowning a bunch of people. The sergeants and commanders in charge weren't open to soldiers telling them what to do or doing things outside their orders; if you did, you could find yourself being ignored at best, or punished at worst. Going and telling them "Sir, the dam appears to be breaking." wouldn't be blaming them for your inability to do something about it yourself; it would be common sense to prevent the impending problems that were approaching.
This is pretty much what Greta is doing. Telling the people in charge that they need to wake up and pay more attention to this issue before it gets worse, or gets out of hand completely.

Yes.
Assuming I've understood you correctly, "The disability is what others deem it to be," in this context is akin to one proclaiming "I am disabled for no other reason than because I say so."
No one should accept that at face value.
However, if I've misunderstood you, then I rescind this statement.

I think what they're trying to say is these people who are laughing are reacting to what they might have heard as a rumor, what they might think caused that ear damage, or any number of other issues that one playing the game might have that they've heard of and subsequently decided to mock and deride. Like how back in the day, anyone who wore glasses was a 'nerd', and being called one was meant as an insult, when it had no bearing on the person at all.
The art itself was supposed only to show the act of making fun of somebody, with no particular reason for that, as there can be many. I asked just for generic characters, the ear was Ookami's idea and i liked it.
What made me order this was many (unfortunately) situations, where i witnessed others taking "bad" stuff about others. This happened during furmeets, on-line chats, few cons i attended. This really hurts me. The text under the image is written in a way to be generic, however it's based off those situations.
I wanted an art, which shows how i feel about such stuff; the art turned out really great, Ookami did a great job as usual and i really appreciate it.

In college I had an autistic lab partner for two classes. He was surrounded by an invisible cloud of people talking about him behind his back "There's this weird kid, did you hear about this one time in class, he..." Then he would actually walk in the room and it would stop. I'm not sure if he knew or not. The worst part, this wasn't middle school or high school kids, who don't know any better, but university level, they are young adults and had not matured or learned any compassion.
I feel this situation too well.. having been on such too many times. -SIghs.- Not fun...
It seems that being different any way... is enough. Someone will try to make fun of you if they sense your weakness.
It seems like commonplace method to elevate ones own status by pushing others down. And from where we get fuel to this toxic behavior? Someone once said that Media is full of those bad examples of pushing others down to elevate ones own position. -Shrugs.- -Sighs.-

I have high functioning autism and I known in the past how it feels to be made fun of and bullied for being the oddball out which society deems people who are technically out of the norm to be not normal but then again who is ever normal. I think people with disabilities are very special in this world and I see us as having special powers that no one else would be capable of having.
We use our disabilities as a power of strength and ability for special purposes in this world. Greta Thunberg is one of those individuals with autism who uses her power to try and change the world for climate change and making the environment a more stable and friendly atmosphere again. She's an amazing individual and I applaud her for that bravery and determination!

This might be something to have others look up, "Socrates and 'The Three Sieves'" when in someone opens their muzzle...
Sadly though, with today's 'Humanity' I tend to think that it would be ignored, thus leaving every second grade dropout to continue to spout whatever the story/rumor/etc.

Ok. I had a fellow co-worker remark badly on a disabled customer in private. After I confronted this person privately it was disregarded and along with their mate was disregarded. In the end I told humanities department and got the co-worker reprimanded for it. As someone with their own disability I find no reason to make fun of any disability. They later on apologized to me on their comments claiming stress (. which I don't know if I can agree on).
