These tracks are sorta trapped in a time warp if you will. Once they went from the town of Bellingham, and cut around through town linking to a popular logging community. Weather, time and geographical challenges eventually ruined the rail line, and the use of trucks vs rail also put the nail on the coffin as well.
The line is 'mostly' abandoned, meaning that a local historical railway group maintains a small array of engines configured to run on these rails, (the line to the left of this picture) And now it goes absoloutely nowhere. On one end its overgrown and homes now sit where rails once did. The other end does eventually connect to an active BNSF (Burlington Northern SantaFe Rail line)
