It's more about the actual creation of the 3d file, but I can answer that here!
I use rolls PLA plastic for all of my prints, and PLA's base is actually made from corn! :) So as long as you wash it between use, it's totally safe to use for cookies. I did some quick googling, and a few sites mentioned that you could seal it with a food safe epoxy if you wanted to, but for the most part it's totally fine to use for something like this.
