Well considering that the buy guy is LITERALLY SATAN i find that hard to believe unless the bible has been pulling the wool over our eyes this entire time and demons are actually really nice chaps. Though given a certain videogame i had the pleasure of playing recently, i can actually believe that
>the bible has been pulling the wool over our eyes this entire time
Yes, the book created by man over thousands of centuries ago before we learned the concept of "live and let live" and gives us IT'S version of what Hell is even though no one has any real proof of what Heaven or Hell looks like might have been pulling the wool over our eyes.
I kinda just believe in a blank purgatory and reincarnation.
Sorry to take this joke into a philosophical turn.

we havent even cracked the philosophical book lol. "Satan" is derived from a ancient hindu term/tittle meaning "persecutor", nothing more. The entity that "persecuted" Job was under El or Yahwehs command, flowing orders, not evil. Other "persecutors" doing "evil" can be called the same thing because its just a tittle. Lucifer is a title that indicates "illumination" or teaching, its not a individual either, in fact in traditional Germanic (language) bibles there are a few points where Christ is refereed to as a "Lucifer". The Angel/watcher/Jinn that was expelled from the heaven(s) was never names, just given titiles. And deval/Devil is a old German meats old English term that mean " one who pesters and provokes".
Well that clears things up, but still doesn't exactly answer my question as to what led the Christians to deem Hell a place of fire and brimstone and tortured for all eternity. I would think even the devils don't truly want to torture sinners just as much as angels don't want to.
depends on which Christianity (it constantly changes due to time period and location)........the earlyist, and the one i prefer, is a place called "Sheole" (nearly like the Jewish one) where is you have lead a good live you chill in twilight fields with everyone ...but if you have fears and regrets over your life the thoughts of regret will make the same place feel like "hell"
Thanks still, just nice to actually have a conversation piece about life and death and not be bombarded with "Hurr durr Non-practicing Christian bad, conservative good" bullshit.
In retrospect, a pic about fictional demon characters isn't the ideal place for a discussion about Religion.

What not ? "Demon" somes from "Daemon" the Latin word in Ancient Greek ( daimon - δαίμων: "god", "godlike", "power", "fate"), referring to a lesser deity or guiding spirit and often the fores of your subconscious or unseen part of your personality/soul. Latter Abrahamic propaganda made that into a "evil" influence in you, and then into a separate creature.
And dont let anyone give you flack, Gnostic Christians who dont "practice" can be very spiritual people and "Church-goers" can lie cheat and beat there kids .....the practice that matters (whatever faith it may be) in in the mind
