The 1958 VW Beetle in my previous photo is featured again here. The white finish on the steering wheel and control knobs is a beautiful contrast to the soft green paint of the dashboard.

I honestly didn’t notice the absence of one.
I had a car once with a non-functional gauge. What a PITA.

It has a small low petrol warning like at the bottom of the gauge. The little circular light to the right of the indicator light. I can't remember what the one on the other side is for.

I'd guess the other would be either a temperature or low oil pressure warning.

Back in the day, I was quick to change out the stock radio in my own cars with something better. It's nice to see this one intact, for sure.

If I had a classic car with the original radio in it.

Would put an AM broadcaster in the car broadcasting classic tunes of the cars time period.

Yep early Type 1 dash... I know them well I've had three of them over the years. They didn't change the dash 68 or 69 when they added a padded dash.

In the '70s I bought three bugs at a junk yard for less than $200. I spent the rest of that summer making one working Beetle - except for the heater, damn things never worked.

My dad did the same with a pair of 1964 Ramblers for my brother.

Keep in mind that the speedos of most American cars from around that time topped out at 120
