we live in a statistical universe. we have tyranny because some people think little green pieces of paper,
and trying to impress each other with what we can buy instead of what we can make,
is worth hating logic and consideration.
the why is simple. but there is a what else. and it doesn't come from magic wands of belief, ideology, or even emotion.
it is beyond the box of familiar social-cultural expectations, but it is there.
it does though take imagination, logic, consideration and honesty.
consideration not just for every human, not even just for every living creature,
but for every natural process and how it works.
we might still have been able to fold paper airplanes if we had never learned aerodynamics,
but it is highly unlikely we would ever have successfully built large passenger and cargo carrying aircraft.
there are many prevailing non-professional assumptions about social psychology, that exist because of beliefs,
and of course we need mutual concern to motivate pursuit of real understanding.
but in order for those concerns to find real solutions, we need to apply logic and imagination, beyond those familiar confines,
because if they were to be found within them, they would have been found, and not lost, and not be missing now.
and this is what really worries me, people turning their backs on looking forward, because what they think they have,
seems for the moment sufficient for themselves, when it is the very opposite in its effect, on the vast majority of even the species and the planet.
we can have a world that is happy and full of love for everyone,
but not without the application of logic in the service of a universality of consideration,
that also requires imagination to bring us the joy and beauty of it, and the honesty not to deceive ourselves,
with romantically easy sounding illusions.
so a happy and gratifying time for all, in a universe that is not zero sum,
but which works they way that it works.

I've been asking myself a similar thing over the past few days, I suppose there are many answers: Desperate clinging for outdated ways, fear of change or having to take accountability for something, prioritizing profits as the bottom line, willful ignorance, or simply people trying all they can to feed their own egos are some of them, I suppose.
This is a very eloquent and poignant poem, and it allows for great deal of reflection.
Blessed Yule and Happy Holidays, Vixyy *hugs*

Such a wonderful poem!
These are the things I ask myself every single day. But you captured them in an almost song, if there was but a melody to go with it. :)
Truly thought provoking, but the final message is the most potent of all: Love!
Thank you very much for reminding us what is the most important thing to give to others!
