Bob threw it out the window.
Michelle threw it out the window.
Lance threw it out the window.
Marcin threw it out the window.
It was too slow. It kept getting thrown out the window.
I dub thee: the defenestrad
My 2004-era tablet PC is honestly getting too slow to keep up with even silly Paint sketches. It's time to throw in the towel for it, I think. It's been a 15-year run for this thing (eight of them in my hands, wow)
It's amusing to me that the guy was pitching this thing as being better than an iPad. It was a different beast back in 2011, and the "mobile productivity" landscape was drastically different in 2011, too. Now you have the Surface to compare to an iPad, and things are a bit more tablet-like...
...which leads me to the decision that sometime in 2020, I'll probably be getting a Surface. Both to replace my aging Nexus 7 (itself going on seven years old soon... shame it was the last truly eye-opening Android tablet that wasn't dropping simple fucking features like the headphone jack) and this aging tablet.
Will I still be using Paint? Probably. But it'll be on a nicer pen, on a nicer screen - no more wacky colors! I almost wonder if that's part of the charm of doing this silly shit, but eh.
I don't really take it seriously. On the other hand, though, in 2012-2013 when this thing still managed to keep up... I was actually starting to refine myself.
It's a far different landscape these days. Who knows where I might be in five years from now? If history tells me anything, not very much of anywhere, but I've been wrong before. (Involvement in local communities, anyone? Tell me I'd be doing that in 2013 and I'd laugh in your face!)
See y'all in 2020, hopefully, with... something.
(Also, that WinBook thing never panned out. Too iffy for drawing and they're... okayish tablets, but the Surface runs absolute rings around them and then some, even at the time, I'd imagine.)
alright enough rambling I see someone grabbing a javelin

also elected to use the stock Win7 paint palette
so long, old friend(? i don't call taking out 40gb of files once something a friend would do but it's still kinda bittersweet)
