Phineas, an otter and water magi traveling from his childhood home to other portions of the world, gets unwittingly tossed into an underground factions fight against an occupying force because of a chance encounter with a zeppelin engineer.
This is the first story I've really done as much work on as I have, and I'm really excited to finally be able to post it. Comments and critique much appreciated!
Many thanks to those who helped me get this story to where it stands now, as well!

Since you seem to be otherwise absent from SoFurry, where I found this little tale, I'm hoping that leaving a comment here might have it actually be read...
I have to say that this story was not only well written, but you created up a very interesting world and characters in it. Phineas is like quite the protagonist, having both flaws and a compelling goal he wants to reach, not to mention his whole encounter with the fox and everything he brought with him. I really want to hear more about it all.
All of the furry-centric descriptions and such didn't feel forced or overwhelming at all, and I rather liked how the different species were all unique in some way. Have you had a chance to do anything more with this story in the past few years at all?

Aw geez, I'm sorry about the SoFurry delay! It's been forever since I was last there, and I have to dig out the information for the account somewhere after moving a few times.
I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for reading! I actually have done one more story set in this universe, though in another part of the world and with different characters. It can be found in the ROAR 3 anthology, and it's called "Escape From New Dansmouth."
I have been working on a manuscript that's supposed to be a direct sequel to this story for a while now though. Not sure when it'll be done, but I'll certainly let people know once it's ready.
Once again, I do apologize for not seeing the comment sooner. It's reminded me that I need to dig out the credentials for the account and get active again there.

I didn't actually post anything there, as it didn't seem like you were active on the site at all. Luckily you did leave a working FA link, so things worked out in the end~
I wouldn't mind hearing more about that world though, even if it's through a different set of characters. There seems to be a lot of really neat background to it all, more than was just told and shown in this story. I'll have to see what I can do about tracking down a copy of ROAR 3. Hopefully Amazon might have a few or something.

I'm not sure Amazon will have it, but you can look. The best place to pick it up would be either Furplanet (http://furplanet.com/shop/) or Rabbit Valley (http://www.rabbitvalley.com/).
I would highly recommend snagging it because there are a bunch of other really great stories in that anthology as well. :3
