Another art style experiment, starring my childhood hero Yoshi!

With my earlier digital paintings, I tried to go for a colored pencil aesthetic. The day I drew this, I wanted to take that to the next level. So I only used a small soft brush, to simulate the strokes of an actual pencil. I also mimicked traditional pencil techniques, like cross hatching.

I also used a paper texture overlay, so I could fake the traditional look. Most importantly, I wanted to work on a huge issue I have with my art: I'm very timid with my colors. This time, I used a limited palette, forcing me to use bold, pure colors that I would never use normally.
