I tried something a little different with the fog in this picture. The fog was made with multiple layers. I move the trees between the layers of fog to set their distance. The more layers of fog in front of an object, the more washed out and distant it looks.

Great animated GIF - the fog looks terrifyingly real, and when the dark figure moved in the background, I must admit i jumped a bit. Every time it moves it gets closer, and pops out from a different place. Now it looks like it's approaching the viewer with those red eyes. It's almost likeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
