Baby Jet demonstrating that, in my universe, Martian mice are not only born pink and hairless, but also lacking antennae. These delicate appendages exist as nerve buds positioned under the skin for the first six months to year of the mouseling's life. When the root system has fully integrated into the neural network, the antennae will begin to grow and emerge in a process similar to human teething. Mouselings will be fussy and irritable during this process, but don't suffer any real or lasting harm.

Hmm, your universe is pretty cool, personally I think it makes sense that Martian Mice grow their antennae between 6 to 12 months old, sometimes longer if the mouseling isn't properly cared for by parent or guardian. By 18 months old their fur starts to grow in full bloom, but of course this is from my own perspective of the species.
