Name: Izuna
Born: ??? (Depends on what form you mean, ghost or living)
Occupation: (Yes, she remarkably has one) Sword and Kendo teacher
Personality: polite yet stern, somewhat depressed by her outcome but persistent in carrying on, can open up to reveal a more happy and playful side with people who she trusts
Izuna’s story is a complicated tale. Born during the post Meiji Restoration era, she took interest at a young age in learning to use Japanese swords and Kendo. By her mid 20’s Izuna had become an expert in the fields and had hopes to become an instructor in the arts. She was even gifted a sword by her grandfather for her devotion in the studies.
Unfortunately, this would not last long. A year after becoming (insert rank and role), Izuna attracted the attention of two men who sought either to win her affection. One was kind and admired her personality even if he could have been better with the swordsmanship skills he knew. The other was stubborn and a tad temperamental but was gifted with the sword and comforted by her. The two men clashed one day after a disagreement of technique, and in an aggressive practice battle accidental got Izuna mortally injured, her blood splashing on the sword gifted to her. Both men felt guilty over their actions and begged for her forgiveness. The result of which is not known, as she passed on weeks later. Together enlisted in the military in hopes of forgiving her spirit with what they were taught.
However, Izuna’s spirit was stuck in an interesting predicament. Because her spirit was strong and her blood splash her weapon, it became attached to the sword, akin to possession to the weapon. Though she’s not confined to only the sword, Izuna’s ghost, is bound to the sword and thus the sword needs to be taken care of.
She’s not a restless spirit per say, but because her life felt incomplete, she felt a need to do more before she could pass on.
Abilities:
As a specter, Izuna has a few abilities as seen commonly with depictions of them.
-Form manipulation: she can phase through most matter due to her ghostly form. She can also solidify it should she desire. She hopes to perhaps make a fully human form one day to blend in.
-Ghost possession: she can control a person’s body and manipulate their actions. This would be useful to her as she could help teach Kendo and sword techniques those by positioning them into correct stances. She rarely uses it however due to not wanting to completely control the person. (Though she can make an exception for certain fun)
-Memory recollection: If a person can hold onto her sword and she’s given permission, she can show the user memories of her life, including a few that have happened in her time as a ghost.
