Yep, good observation!
I did a little research on how the feline claws work and found that a similar structure would be very useful for a quadruped/biped hybrid anatomy.
Despite all digits being used when running, they would still have sets of (retractable) sharp claws for climbing/cutting/tool creation.
The hind leg claws are normal ones useful for running, and the front paws' side digits are less strong but flexible ones (almost like thumbs), because the weight load on the front legs is concentrated at and behind the strong middle two digits.
