Sandy got all dressed up for a Valentine's Day date, only to realize that the person she was supposed to meet hours ago was never going to show. Naturally, Sandy copes with the situation by sitting alone, with somber tears in her eyes and only the dimming light of a dying candle to keep her company.

For this pic, I wanted to try something a bit different from what a lot of artists seem to always do for Valentine's Day. Instead of making the typical "lovey-dovey, sugary sweet" stuff, I wanted to show the sadder side of things. Specifically, I wanted to show the crippling loneliness that Valentine's Day evokes within so many people during this time of year. The very simple feeling that nobody wants you or loves you, all because you happen to be alone on Valentine's Day.
Now, before anyone asks, no; I'm not bitter about being alone on Valentine's Day. I'm just pointing out how many people seem to feel during such a festivity, especially here on places like deviantArt and FurAffinity; where every year, I always find at least three journals talking about how "Valentine's Day is the worst day of the year" and how "it should die in a car fire".
But anyway, to everyone out there who has someone to be with this February 14th, someone to hold, someone to kiss, someone to share both the good times and the bad times with; have a happy and healthy Valentine's Day. And to all those people out there that are alone this go round...well...there's always next year, right? ^_^;

^^; its sad but I kinda gave up on valentines day a long time ago, Ive actually never had a date for one since it seems that only people in other countries seem to find me attractive at all XD, anyway I hope she knows that even though her date didn't show up a little prairie dog would be happy to sit with her as long as she needed it and then some.
That made me a little teary-eyed, I wish I could be there to comfort her, even if all we ever did was talk, just knowing that perhaps I could make her day feel a little brighter would be enough for me. Real or not, It pains me to see someone down and blue, lonely and sad.

This is a very wonderful picture. Very emotional stuff. After minutes of staring at this picture. I cried. It is kinda depressing when you have no one to hug, kiss, love or go to bed with at night while everyone else seems to get lucky. Sorry if i sound sad. I know how big girls can be very lonely and trust me, I,m a bit of a big guy myself. A few extra pounds of weight that is. I would give anything to feel and be loved. Sometimes I wonder how many people are so lonely on a day like Valentines Day. Not only that big girls can be lonely, but men and women from different backgrounds too. Thank you, Satsumalord for posting this image. Sandy looks really pretty. It really bleeds my heart to see the fact that so many people are lonely and it can hurt being lonesome. Great job, man.

You,re welcome. Sorry if i sounded a bit emotional. But just by looking at it. The toughs that go through you,re mind. can be very touchy stuff. Like you said. Loneliness can be very crippling. I been feeling very lonely and sad for a long time now. I guess Sandy in the picture reminded me of myself. Its a little bit like looking at yourself in the mirror if you know what i mean.
