I have fallen down the New Vegas rabbit hole...
Very, very hard.
I haven't completed the game yet, too busy doing side quests, but I have to say my favorite weapons are the Anti-materiel Rifle (Fully kitted out thanks to GRA, the Explosive ammo is a lot of fun), the GRA Battle Rifle (~PING!~), and they Mysterious Magnum for indoor fights.
Very, very hard.
