So there are a few products that GMX Market sells that obviously aren't a thing in the real world. In regards to the product that Ian drinks, it's supposed to be a protein shake that temporarily gives you a boost before working out or performing manual labor. He just forgot that it contains enough for two shots, and then this is what can happen.
Well, I actually have a headcanon in my head where he's a professor at a college where he teaches a physical/fitness related topic like "Health & Fitness" or "Physical Therapy" or something like that.
He used to be more into fitness back in his own high school days and has recently regained the interest. At least, that's me headcanon for him...
