Here's a picture I did for fun featuring
Kojote_Latrans as a 5th Century Germanic warrior!
I know Kojote is a fan of medieval history and he's also of German descent and recently I've been into reading about the late antiquity era and how it led up to the early middle ages and the many tribes that were prevalent during that era such as the Ostrogoths and Visigoths and I thought it would be neat to depict his sona as a noble Ostrogothic swordsman! (could even be his sona's ancestor haha)
Whereas German tribes often fought in a more ordered, organized manner than the Celts, they sometimes adopted their neighbours’ weapons and equipment, either through battle or trade. Celtic armour found its way onto the backs of privileged German warriors, while double-edged longswords were another example of creeping Celtic influence. An iron sword was a prestigious possession, so those who carried them were either of noble blood or were veteran followers. By following a noble, warriors were duty-bound to show dedication and valour. If he fell in combat, the noble’s men were expected to fight to the death.

Yeah the more I read about the Late Antiquity era the more fascinated I was about everything that was going on at the time like all the different power struggles between various empires, tribes and factions that were rising and falling and the development of early Christianity after the decline of the Roman state religion.
And the other I like about that time period is seeing all the barbarian kingdoms slowly form into the stable kingdoms that are nearly analogous to the nations we have today.
