Krista no longer dreaded going home after a rough day.
With her leading lower-year classes as a grad student and Dan starting out in his career, it was inevitable that their schedules would conflict, leaving one of them at home alone, with nobody to unburden to but the electronics.
One confession of love changed all that for the better.
Krista opened the door to the apartment she shared with her lover...Lovers, she reminded herself. Dan was nowhere in sight, but to the beagle's delight, Alex was curled up on the sofa, TV on.
"Hey!"
"Hey you," Alex smiled.
Krista kicked off her shoes and padded over to the sofa, slumping onto it. She held out for as long as she could, but her head inevitably found its way to Alex's lap, the snow leopard toying with her hair as she shared the stresses of her day. It was an unorthodox match, to be sure, but it guaranteed that the three of them would never be lonely again.
