KINDERGARTEN WALL DECOR CALLED IT WANTS ITS COLOR PALETTE BACK
Neopets co-creator Donna Williams once mentioned in a Reddit AMA that she specifically named and designed (or at least approved the designs for) the Ogrin and Xweetok to be both hideously named and hideous looking. She likely succeeded with the Ogrin, a specially uggo pet who is also my favorite species because of how sucky it is, but she totally failed with the Xweetok. Not only is the design imo a solid fantasy blend of a chipmunk and that stray cat you see by the 7/11 sometimes, but the name is unique and instantly recognizable. Also the Xweetok is, as of 2019, the 5th most popular pet onsite. Sorry, Donna. At least the equally iconic Starry color is kitschy and endearing enough to suit any pet.
