Yeah definitely! book 12 was really slow for me in particular, mostly because I care more about the Queen Wasp plot than Cricket's personal life plot XD
Sundew seemed like an "annoying tsunami" at first but I agree she's becoming more interesting. It was very interesting in particular to see her juxtaposed with Tsunami (who has grown and changed and become more mature due to her travels) in book 13.
