One of the teams that's stumped Ruby for the longest time is Zampelli Engineering, a team that start in the middle series and have time and time and time and TIME again shown themselves as... pretty mediocre. Despite this, their car have often stayed around the average of power, and they keep hiring amazing drivers! They also have the worst HQ and staff members, but that REALLY shouldn't make too big an impact, would it? They've won a race here and there sure, but they've had the advantage of the middle series' cars being designed to be VERY similar due to the fact that the engines are the same, which in the game is the single most powerful car part and can make or break a team alone. In fact, that they're above average AND that they often have some of the best drivers in their series just makes it more of a headscratcher!
Ironically, for being called Zampelli Engineering, their designer is 1/5 stars.
Edit: Oh and here's Zampelli 3 races into season 2, they dropped to lowest series after season 1, and because they dropped down they have a VERY good car and the same drivers of the APS' higher standard. So they do have a GREAT car and pair of drivers, as well as pretty alright staff... yet they're still... HOW are they 7th out of 10!?

Edit 2: Hold up, their sponsors are also often times in the very low regions... does this mean the reason they're so bad is because they have no money? Nah that can't be it, their car's able to keep up with the parts, and should as such be able to stay with the pack or pull away at least a few times. Or is it that their AI manager M.Louis is so incompetent that he almost intentionally ruin their cars and pitstops? I need to do a race where I ONLY watch the zampelli cars
Edit 3: It's confirmed now, they have not only awful tactics but they often go for components on their new parts that raise the Red Zone. (The Red Zone is a section of the part's reliability bar where during the race it'll start to randomly go down slowly or VERY quickly. Normally at 20%, the Red Zone can go up and down depending on what components you pick for the part, and I'm sure they go for ones that raise the Red Zone...) They were 3rd with me in 1st and 2nd one race, and on the second last lap their 3rd positioned car's engine blew up and they had to limp one more lap... ending the race just outside of points. They were the only team not getting any points that season.
