My Dear Friend and Chimyr in some part of UWi that is clearly inspired by 80s anime fantasy
There's no official map of uwi, no official definitive list of all the countries and cultures, because Uwi is exactly as big as it needs to be at all times, and has whatever kind of countries and cultures are necessary for the story
in a way, it makes it feel less fond for me, whereas something like tombdogs had a super detailed, super fleshed out tiny scope world in comparison and you could really get a FEEL for it
but tombdogs was one culture group of one continent to be honest
if i ever wanted to sit down and flesh out any place with that level of granularity i can and this is kind of reminding myself i can do whatever i want in this setting
besides, through yhelm's story flyhhnemonia has a pretty specific grouping of cultures so that's neat i guess although it's super cosmopolitan? idk
to say nothing of the tabletop which takes place in a very specific cultural setting and also has its own culture where the players are in a weird cosmpolitan cult that has its own culture, and
anyway
if you made it this far, fun fact: Chimyr ended up with My Dear Friend as a result of a one-sided breacher deal she made to get away from where she lived for Reasons. My Dear Friend exploited that to get herself a lunar caretaker, but it turns out Chimyr was totally stoked at being part of the breacher world and now she's basically that classic archetype of the servant who's more into the game than the master

for whatever reason, my dear friend is indeed posing as chimyr's slave here
how can that be, when Ownership is a quantifiable variable in this setting that normal people can perceive in certain circumstances?
the breacher law that lets my dear friend own chimyr is just put under a dummy layer of law that makes it look reversed from the outside, duh
you can basically get away with anything in uwi if you can justify it well enough and that's why i love it.
anyway chimyr is not a changeling mimicing a species that was meant to exist, so sometimes my dear friend lets her do the talking so she can take a break from having to blend in so much while still getting the privilege of other people perceiving her as a freeperson
