Old art circa 2000. A young inexperienced kitsune with only one tail, has to earn to the rest of them through hard work. ;) This was done just with two inks, india (black) and yellow orche on bristol board.

I still have prints available of this, note me if interested!

I think that's actually just fandom-based mythology that stems from the furry fandom and not actual Japanese folklore.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was going for! It's really really hard to draw something awkward, and have it actually look awkward rather than just plain wrong. ;3

Lovely rendering of the bamboo framing the kitsune, and the look on his face is spot on: out on his own for the first time and perhaps not willing to admit he's not sure what he's doing. Crazy foxes...
