In these sketches by
hanmonster we see him as a more demonic entity retiring from the life of constant battle in the arena, which he remained the champion of until his last day. Now, he's just enjoying himself, adopting a little bit of a different appearance using his magical talents, and getting to take life a little easy before being inundated with brash young things wanting to be trained by the best, no doubt. He'll have to continue to kick butt to get them to bugger off, most likely. Yes, now that he isn't constantly wearing his leg armor he walks with a limp due to that time someone took a big bite out of his calf in one of his bouts.
