For all her confidence and awareness, Kathalia's own feelings are something of a blindspot for her, and she hasn't quite come to openly realize the significance of her history of (entirely female) crushes or that she may share similar repressed feelings for a certain platinum-haired Sidhe...
Kathalia is not fully aware of her sexuality. When she was young, she was betrothed to Morgan of Dreger, a young nobleman her age. While they became good friends, Kathalia never stopped to consider him as a romantic partner, and when the time came to marry him, she fled the region without a second thought, joining an order with a vow of celibacy. Following this, she was trapped in the Faewylde. As a result, she has never had a long term partner. For all her life, Kathalia has assumed she was fleeing the life of a domestic bride for one of adventure, then following her vows, then shutting herself in emotionally because of her traumas. The truth is somewhat different. During her youth, Kathalia took part in a tournament for the hand of the daughter of the Count of Anjev, failing to realize that she was smitten with the girl, not just looking to prove herself at tournament. During her time in the Urzh Kroashent, she was exceptionally close to Ai'sha min Iram, a Saracen member of her company. Although neither relationship continued, Kathalia has yet to realize the truth about herself and her sexual identity.
