Ookami kodomo Ame to Yuki fan art featuring the Wolfman. His creator, Hosoda Mamoru doesn't really reveal his real name, but when I was looking for any information about his name I found a very interesting theory by one of the fandom members, posted on Wolf Children Wiki:
"I have a theory his real name was Kaze, Japanese for wind. I mean Ame and Yuki are named for snow and rain. There are a number of times his appearance is tied to wind in the trees. Also in the credits during "Mother's Song" there are the lyrics "Yuki wo kake, kumo wo kazoe, ame ni asobi, kaze ni fukarete, Hana ni umore" Meaning: "Run through snow, count the clouds, play in the rain, get blown by the wind, get buried in flowers. "It's never said aloud, but the hints are there. The father is the wind. He leaves as quickly as he arrives."
I love this theory and in my opinion, there's a 99% possibility it is a true assumption :3
