Cute little picture of my whitefaced pied cockatiel Elton. Elton is a very special little boy because he is my very first avian pet, and he is also the first animal that I've rescued. I rescued him, oddly enough, on December 31 of last year, kind of a time where I think I needed him the most. I'm not a fatalist, but I think Elton's appearance into my life is a little symbolic. This picture was taken in July of 2006 after the mayhem that was our housewarming party, :D. Perfect timing for me, because I was looking for a certain pose to capture, and he picked the best time to start fluffing up so he could shake out and preen, hehe!

Nope, he doesn't talk, but I blame that on his former owners, plus the fact that cockatiels, even the male ones aren't generally the biggest talkers in the exotic bird world, :D. He peeps, chirps and sings, and I'm pretty sure he's trying hard to talk but all it comes out as is his peeping. The frequency and spacing of his peeps equate to something roughly like this in English: "Hello," "Thank you," "Bye-bye," "Mama," "I love you," and some other ones that I think are expletives, judging by his tone, LOL! I wish he would talk, but it's wishful thinking at this point. But it doesn't matter...a talker or not, I still love him!
