Yeah, most of the Anime cons around here have stopped calling it a rave, and I think it was Bakuretsu Con that said it is now illegal to call it a rave or something like that in Vermont, if it is Bakuretsu I'm thinking about. I guess some people think "rave" means something other than "dance."
as for the second stairs FC dances, as a member of the community i could concede that yes they qualified as raves. Additionally while its not illegal to call them raves the Rave Act has created many limits and regulations that allow for law force harassment of ravers and promoters. and yes it is a sad fact that the connotation of rave comes with many negative greatly exaggerated consequences, this is coming from a "sober raver".
