It's tedious, but not nearly as much as you'd think. I just hate it because everything looks crappy when you zoom it to actual size after working on it. Plus I did it with a mouse, so... ugh. NEED. TABLET. SOBADLY. XO3

oh, a mouse. How unpleasant! You do need a tablet! They are so amazing and natural! (well, they feel natural, anyway. ) I have an expensive, but lovely tablet: the Wacom Intuos 4 tablet, medium. Oh, it's my new love!
I guess drawing fur and texture come easily for me because I have hawk-vision. swear to god. I can see a lot of detail even at night.

Oooh, nice! I liked the look of that one, but it was expensive like you say. I'm thinking of getting the Bamboo Fun (I think that's the one) for myself on birthday, so someday this will all be easier. I hope. XO3
I have better than perfect vision too, but I don't have the skill for fur that intricate. I would go cross-eyed trying to get each line JUST RIGHT and shred the page with erasing in the process. XO3 It's not so much a sight problem as by the time I reached that point, I'd have spent a long time on a drawing anyway because I'm slow and sucky, and would be ready to just get it over with XO3.
